Expansion of the mosque space

In the Islamic community of Almacelles, it is planned to expand the space of the current mosque. For this, it has been decided to acquire a new, larger space so that the entire Muslim community can access the Masjid without worrying about space. It is also for a space for women, as the current mosque is small and does not have space for women.

We need your help

The total price of acquiring the land is €81,000, which has already been paid. About €20,000 has been raised, and the renovation of the mosque costs €154,000. We have decided to launch this campaign so that people can help us raise funds for this new space for Muslims in Almacelles.

The current situation

The current space is a garage between residential buildings, a small place where the five daily prayers are held and where children have Arabic classes on Saturdays. However, due to limited space, hardly anyone can fit during Ramadan to perform Tarawih prayers. On occasions of Eid, the prayer is sometimes held in an open space (park with lawn) outside the town.

The importance of the mosque

The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: "أحب الأماكن عند الله المساجد", "the most beloved places to Allah are the mosques". The house of Allah becomes our homes, that is why the Prophet (peace be upon him) said: "المسجد هو بيت كل مؤمن", "the mosque is the home of every believer". The Prophet (peace be upon him) forbids those who try to prevent their women from going to the Masjid, and used powerful rhetoric for that: "لا تمنعوا الأنثى الله عن بيوت الله", "do not prevent the female servants of Allah from entering the houses of Allah".
