After several tests, Nadia has been diagnosed with lung cancer. She needs to start her medication and chemotherapy immediately, before undergoing surgery. The operation will be performed after chemotherapy treatment, as there is a risk because her lungs are not healthy enough.

She is also still waiting to find out if the cancer has spread to areas outside the lung.

In the private hospital, they asked for 10,000 euros to perform the operation, but in a public hospital, she could undergo surgery for 5,000 euros.

No resources to cope with the disease

Nadia and her family are going through a difficult financial situation, as her mother is the only one supporting the household, so they cannot afford the treatment, chemotherapy, and surgery. Additionally, they live in Guercif (Morocco), a small town where hospitals do not have the necessary resources to treat cancer. That is why she had to have all the tests done in Marrakech and Agadir, where her maternal aunt lives.
