Ramadan Mubarak!!!!

We are pleased to present our educational project, Averroes American School in collaboration with Fitra Education Association, an initiative led by a multicultural and interdisciplinary team of Muslim women in Granada, Spain. This project aims to establish a legally constituted school, based on a liberal arts curriculum and inspired by the prophetic tradition emphasizing the importance of adab (good character), akhlaq (ethics) and leadership.


Participate in a unique and innovative educational project that aims to bring to life the collective dream of Muslims in Spain and Granada, in particular.


We are at a crucial moment to contribute to the maintenance, strengthening and renewal of a strong Muslim identity in future generations. A solid intellectual foundation and tradition allows for social, communal and spiritual leadership, as such, our students will be a natural form of dawah both within our community and to society, in general.

International educational regulations facilitate the realization of this educational project as an American school on Spanish soil. This allows great autonomy and development of Islamic principles that responds to our needs, aspirations and responsibilities with our children and adolescents, while ensuring its viability, management and sustainability.

First Phase of the project

The first phases of the educational project have focused on the design, formulation, and strengthening of legal and institutional framework. We have the support, as members of important Muslim organizations in Spain that have agreements with the Spanish State. Likewise, we have joined efforts with local and national entities and international networks that share the vision of the urgent need to give life to the first school founded by Muslims in Spain to ensure renewal and growth of our community.

The present phase is that of implementation and establishment of an educational facility. The rental or acquisition of a property is necessary to impart pre-school and elementary classes in order to grow naturally, gradually and sustainably, thus expanding the educational offer. The American accreditation, local authorizations, and licenses are prerequisites to complete the legal commissioning of the school. For this purpose, the facilities, the accreditation, and the licenses are our primary needs, requiring an amount between 150,000 to 200,000 Euros.

We call for the unity of Muslims in this educational project in support of the noble purpose of educating the new generations to be the beacon of light with solid intellectual, spiritual, and ethical foundations. We have confidence in the promise of Allah (swt) to take care with his providence, initiatives aimed at essential and beneficial knowledge so that the new generations seek their reward only from Allah (swt) and emulate the Prophet (saw) by being a natural form of dawah, because the most powerful dawah, is being a good example.
