In recent days, the Moroccan city of Ksar El Kebir has been struck by devastating floods. The overflow of the Loukkos River has flooded entire neighborhoods, forced dozens of families to evacuate, and caused immeasurable material losses. Many areas remain isolated, and the situation is still critical.

This tragedy deeply moves us, as this city is home to the headquarters of one of our most important sister NGOs, with whom we have worked closely for many years.

The Dam Threatens the Disappearance of the Entire City

The seriousness of the situation increases due to the threat posed by the dam, whose water level has reached alarming heights. A possible collapse or uncontrolled release could lead to even greater destruction, endangering not only the affected neighborhoods but the very existence of the city. It is a real threat that keeps the population in constant fear.

In this month of Shaaban, a time when our deeds are raised to Allah, Subḥānahu wa Taʿālā, we want to respond with sincere solidarity, awareness and faith. May Allah protect all the residents of Ksar El Kebir, preserve their homes and cover them with His mercy.

Although it is not yet possible to determine exactly how aid will be provided, as the immediate priority is saving lives and overcoming this critical phase, the fundraising continues. Once the situation is assessed on the ground and in coordination with our local partners, the funds will be allocated responsibly, transparently, and according to actual needs.
