On behalf of the board of the Muslim Community of Sant Cugat del Vallés (Barcelona), we inform you that we have launched a campaign to purchase a new mosque and create an Islamic cultural center in our municipality.
We face a significant setback: the rental property where our current mosque is located has been put up for sale to a vulture fund. We risk being evicted within weeks or months, and Allah knows best. Every donation, big or small, is crucial to save our community from being left without a place of worship.
Currently, we use the As-sunna mosque located at 63 Montserrat Street, Baixos, as our place of worship. This mosque was established by the first generations of Muslims in the municipality approximately 25 years ago. Besides serving as a place of worship, Arabic and Deen classes for the children have also been held here.
Over the years, the Muslim community has grown significantly, Alhamdulilah, to the point where the current mosque has become too small for us. During important occasions such as Ramadan, Eid al-Fitr, or Eid al-Adha, there is not enough space for all brothers and sisters, and we have had to resort to public places like community centers for our worship activities.
For over a year, we have been working hard to find a new place to build a proper center of worship. Alhamdulilah, Allah has facilitated all the bureaucratic processes, and now we need your support to make it a reality.
We are conducting various fundraising activities, including selling solidarity tote bags, running fundraising campaigns, and contacting other mosques for loans. However, despite our growth as a community, we are still small in number, so we need your help.
As Muslims, we understand the importance of having a dignified and proper place of worship where we can go to the house of Allah, subhanahu wa taala, especially on our most important dates. We firmly believe that this new mosque will be a Rahma for our municipality and for all future generations of believers.
We ask you to support us in this project by making a Sadaqah Jariyah, a lifelong Sadaqah, which will not only benefit the Ummah but also bring rewards for this good deed even after leaving this Dunya.
