Help Lama Hear and Speak Again!
Little Lama lives with her parents in Jordan. At the age of 9 months, it was noticed that Lama couldn't hear and didn't react to sounds. A cochlear implant was successfully implanted on the right side, alhamdulillah. This is a type of electronic hearing prosthesis that sends information to the auditory nerve. Lama can now perceive sounds, alhamdulillah. However, much time has been lost, and she needs to learn to speak completely. For this, she needs to attend speech therapy almost daily.
The parents have limited income and can't afford the therapy and daily commute themselves. That's why we've decided to help the family. I personally know the family and visited them during the summer holidays. The costs amount to around 2000€ for the first year. The therapy costs 120 dinars per month, in addition to the round-trip expenses.
