Assalamu Aleikum,

In 2002, we established the Arrahma Islamic Cultural Centre, meaning “Mercy”, in Sant Feliu de Guíxols. We had a small premises where we performed our prayers and which also served as an Arabic school for our children. The Muslim community in Sant Feliu de Guíxols is large, and the premises we had soon became too small for us. Many years were spent searching and working to find a suitable space where we could build our place of worship.

In 2022, with the help of Allah ﷻ and the efforts of the entire community, we were able to purchase a plot of land to begin building our mosque, in sha Allah.

It will not only be a place of worship, but also a space for knowledge, education, and dialogue for our local community. The total land area is 525 square metres, which will be divided into three floors plus a basement.

There will be a basement car park with capacity for 14 vehicles. The ground floor and first floor will be the main prayer areas, with both floors including the necessary complementary spaces: stairs, an elevator, toilets, and ablution facilities.

The second floor will be dedicated to the women's prayer area and will also serve as an educational and school space, with a total of three rooms, each with a capacity of 20 people. These rooms may also be used for other purposes according to the community's needs, such as workshops.

Finally, the roof level will include a 247.39-square-metre terrace.

Once completed, the building will have a total floor area of 1,381.67 square metres. The total budget for this project is €1,111,611.

As you can see in the photos, construction has already begun, but we are currently going through a difficult financial situation. Construction has been stopped for more than four months due to a lack of funds.

We urgently need your help to continue the construction and complete the project as we have envisioned it, in sha Allah.

This is a great opportunity for all of us to contribute our small part to this sadaqah jariyah.

And remember that the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said:

“Whoever builds a mosque for the sake of Allah ﷻ, Allah ﷻ will build for him a palace in Paradise.”
