Assalamu Aleikum,

In 2002, we established the Islamic Cultural Center Arrahma, La Misericordia, in Sant Feliu de Guíxols. We had a small space where we performed our prayers, which also served as an Arabic school for our children. The Muslim community in Sant Feliu de Guíxols is large, and soon the space we had became too small. Many years of searching and hard work followed to find a place where we could build our center of worship.

Last year, in 2022, with the help of Allah (SWT) and the effort of the entire community, we were able to purchase land to begin the construction of our mosque, in sha Allah.

It will not only be a place of worship but also a space for knowledge, education, and dialogue for our local community. The total land area is 525 square meters, which will be divided into three floors plus a basement. We will have a basement parking with a capacity for 14 car spaces. The ground floor and the first floor will be the main prayer area (both floors will have their complementary spaces: stairs, elevator, bathrooms, and ablution room). The second floor of the building will be dedicated to the women's prayer area and, at the same time, will serve as an education and school space with a total of 3 rooms, each with a capacity of 20 people. This room may also be used for other purposes as needed, such as a workshop room. Finally, the top floor will have a terrace of 247.39 square meters.

Once completed, the building will have a total area of 1,381.67 square meters. The total budget for this project is 1,111,611€.

As you can see, this is a very important and laborious project in which we need the help not only of the Muslim community of Sant Feliu but also of all of you. This is a great opportunity for all of us to contribute to this sadaka jariyah. And remember, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever builds a mosque for the sake of Allah, Allah will build a palace for him in paradise."
